new projects and new tea

since i finished the green room it seems like i’ve brought it upon myself to make the rest my aging shop look better. about time since no one has really done any proper renovations since we opened.

so while everyone was happily feasting over the weekend i went and got the front of the store re-carpeted and repainted.

i also have to make this way less packed and confusing..

and make all better looking and such.

good thing i have tea to keep me mellow. went through the secret stash and found some super delicious brews. yumm.

today i had a small bout of regret. i regret that i hadnt put the effort to do well in school. i regret that i had fallen back to the family business rather than going to a grad school and getting a masters in something.

then i realized that i have job security. i have a profession that i actually enjoy.

i realized that i really dont really regret much. i shouldnt complain about my job as much.

then i realized that i built a mo’ effing room from a small idea in my head.

then i went and rolled some fenders.

the ridgeline isnt useless

ever since ive bought a tow ball for the ridgeline, ive realized that this truck isnt completely useless. turns out honda has made a pretty capable truck.

towed a corolla.

towed a 240sx.

also towed a full on trailer with an evo on top. brakes worked, engine pulled strong and i didnt poop myself while towing.

the green room

at work ive been busying myself with a medium-sized project to renovate and renew our crowded and aging showroom. taking a poorly executed idea from a local competitor i decided that we needed to build a “green” room. a small vignette that would reflect the current technologies in high efficiency lighting and plumbing fixtures.

the idea is that if we could show customers that being on the cutting edge of efficiency doesn’t have to be disgusting and ugly. nor does it mean you have dim, useless light sources.

i didnt think that my dad would ever support the idea, but it looks like he is ready to hand over the reigns sooner than i thought. plans were drawn and product was procured from the participating manufacturers. a week and a half later, everything is wired and the project is drawing to a close.

i hope i dont fuck up anything. if all goes well, im gonna attack the rest of the crowded showroom to make it more presentable and approachable.

i think im going to name it “the mike tseng experience center”.

teh driftings

after all the hard work i put in the 240sx’s we finally got to bring them out to drift. didnt do too well. but then again this was our first time.

wasnt able to get much pics as i was too busy being in-car. limitless was able to bring out the just completed sr20det 240sx convertible. sherry manhandled that car like no other. l33t driftingz

240sx

i’ve been working on a couple 240sx’s recently. mostly cause friends have bought one. its good to work on cars. its been a really long time since i took apart a car to work on.

took out a differential to put in a welded one.

and did some interior work for another 240sx. yumm suede

on the otherhand the xb has been in storage for super long. finally took it to a show for the first time in a while. good stuff.

i’ve got wood

i went to swing by limitless today and i saw something that made me go ape shit crazy. shane had finished wrapping a piece of my dash and i was blown away.  check it.

that stuff looks goood. nice deep dark chocolate tones that i think would go lovely with the dark interior ive got going.

shane even took out the vent rings and wrapped it too. i think this shit is gonna be sex.

been a rough two weeks. i went to a sushi challenge and actually finished the challenge. honestly i didnt really expect to do it. i just wanted to have some food. by the time i was 3/4 way through i actually had a chance of finishing. wanted to stop but the doods started to egg me on. i finished it. now im on a wall. big fkcing whoop. except i look like a retard.

fcking g was so smashed that he made me take a pic with the kinda cute waitress. funny for him but super not cool for me cause i wanted to yack. i felt like this for a week. a dumpster. nasty.

ackshully that was a dumpster outside a krispy kreme. funny.

and these two weeks ive been one-man-team at the counter for work. not that cool cause most the time im trying to help people find replacement light bulbs. i dont understand why people dont trust me when i find their replacements. i know light bulbs. just fucking trust me.
